SPECIALIST HIGH SKILLS MAJOR:
ARTS AND CULTURE - HOSPITALITY AND TOURISM
Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) in Hospitality and Tourism and Business and Arts and Culture are designed to provide students with sector-recognized learning opportunities that will promote success in the workplace and post-secondary education destinations. Through unique learning experiences, the SHSM will strengthen student commitment through to graduation. Students earning a SHSM in Hospitality and Tourism, Business and Arts and Culture with their OSSD will do so by completing the five required components:
- Bundle of credits identified in the sector specific guide in one of the 4 pathway destinations: apprenticeship, college, university and the workplace (see pathways chart),
- sector recognized certifications and training,
- experiential learning opportunities (co-operative education, dual-credit program),
- reach ahead experiences and
- use of the Ontario Skills Passport
