Dear Parents,
The St. Joseph-Scollard Hall school community will be participating in a Mobile Giving Campaign to help raise funds for a Children's Play Room at the Nipissing Serenity Hospice. The Nipissing Serenity Hospice will be a residential hospice located in North Bay for people seeking end of life care in the Nipissing and District area.
The “Find Your Five” Hospice mobile giving campaign allows for a $5 donation to be made by texting 45678 (the St. Joseph-Scollard Hall school donation number) with the word “54HOSPICE013”. There will only be a $5 option for this campaign and students will receive a confirmation text message to ensure that the intended donation is valid.
Each $5 donation will be added to your child's monthly cellphone bill and will be easily identifiable. Should you choose to remove the donation, you can do so by calling your cell phone carrier before the end of the billing cycle. Billing cycles typically begin and end on the same day each month, giving you approximately 30 days to reverse the charges.
Students will also have opportunities to make manual or cash donations without using a mobile device throughout the fundraising campaign.
This initiative is another opportunity for SJSH students to participate in a social justice activity with a positive impact locally, and which helps build their understanding of how to be responsible, respectful and caring stewards of their community.
Please ensure that you have made your wishes known to your child regarding participation in this campaign, prior to the SJSH Kick-Off Assembly, May 3.
