The Wiidooktaadwin Indigenous Mentorship Initiative

The WIMI is a mentorship program for Indigenous Youth ages 13-17 led by Nipissing University. Wiidooktaadwin is an Anishnaabe word that means “helping one another.” The WIMI program connects Indigenous university students with Indigenous youth at SJSH. Indigenous university students, elders, and knowledge keepers visit the school to lead sessions that include Indigenous teachings and activities that emphasize working together and the importance of sharing our gifts. Students are provided opportunities to attend a variety of workshops, conferences, and local field trips to the University.
